RAUTAHAT: Eight
Nepali children, who were smuggled to India and forced to work at zari
embroidery work and bag factories, were rescued from Muzaffarpur of the
Indian state of Bihar and brought back to Nepal. They are aged 10 to 15.
A Nepali NGO named Sana Haat Haru rescued them from the Muzaffarpur railway station with the help of a local NGO, Nirdosh.
The
rescued children hail from different villages in Rautahat. Agents had
lured their families into temptation of good job and taken them to
different Indian mega cities including Mumbai, Banglore and New Delhi.
Sana Haat Haru
handed over the rescued children to the District Administration Office,
Rautahat today. They were later handed over to their respective
families in presence of the Chief District Officer, Narahari Baral.
A team from Sana Haat Haru had gone to Muzaffarpur after receiving information about the children from Nirdosh.
